SQL Report Writing Workshop

Workshop Overview

The SQL Report Writing Workshop is delivered as hands-on interactive sessions in a small group format. Course materials do not attempt to cover in detail the scripting, database schema concepts, report writing tools, and other skills also required to successfully create and deploy custom reports using CLMS/FactorSoft Reporting Services (CRS). Participants are expected to have met the prerequisites prior to enrolling in the class. After completing the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the powerful scheduling and output options provided by CRS
  • Have an understanding of CRS’ concepts and tool set
  • Be able to use the tool set required to produce and deploy custom reports
  • Have produced at least one report utilizing a real-world example from their organization

Before registering for the SQL Report Writing Workshop, attendees must already possess a demonstrable ability to locate and extract data from a Commercial Lending Management System (CLMS) data store. This requires knowledge of:

  • Extraction and manipulation of data from the Commercial Lending Management System™ (CLMS) and FactorSoft® data stores with T-SQL to produce meaningful data sets for reporting
  • Microsoft Management Studio or an equivalent tool for working with SQL databases and generating T-SQL Scripts
  • T-SQL Script generation and execution
  • CLMS Database Schema and Layout
  • Microsoft Report Builder 3.0 or Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (MSSRS); Report Builder 3.0 will be used during the class

Prior to Class

Participants should bring two functional and properly tested T-SQL scripts. These scripts will be used during the hands-on workshop to build actual CRS Reports that can be deployed in the participant's system.
